Wow, it has been a while since my last post, but there have been many events.
I've started working on a new style of watercolor painting, at leave new for me, and is more expressive. I've just listed two of the paintings in my etsy shop: http://naomimayhue.etsy.com
Here is a look:

shy little guy
Finished a new painting today.
This little guy was inspired by the raccoons living in the woods next to the house. Since the time change it gets dark later in the evening so you can see everything in the yard. Well, almost every evening a pair of raccoons come out of the woods and sniff around looking for something to eat. The pair like to eat the bird food which has fruit and hazel nuts in the songbird mix. Also, they eat all of the bread crumbs I toss for the birds. One evening I went out into the backyard to fill the bird feeder and there was one of the raccoons. As soon as he saw me he ran into the woods, but just far enough to watch me from the thick brush. I could see his cute little face peeking out from the dark brush.

Last month I closed my jewelry shops and have been wondering what to do with all the raw materials. So, I've decided to re-purpose the materials to create some new fun products.
I've created fabric and leather magnets!
The fabric magnets are inspired by the many trinkets my mother would bring back for us on her trips to Japan. Listed these yesterday in my snapdragon9.etsy.com shop!

shop news & other shop news
I have a new painting listed as well as prints of some of my original in my etsy shop: naomimayhue.etsy.com.
I been wanting to offer prints of my original watercolor and pen and ink artwork for a while, but need the funds to purchase the large format graphic scanner and the professional quality printer (Epson R2880) to produce fine art prints.
So, it was bye....bye...Burgman 650! I sold my motorcycle!
Selling my bike was a very painful, but necessary decision if I want to offer a range of prices in my art shop. I guess we do what me must for our art!
The printer and scanner are excellent! It is scary good how much the prints on the Epson Velvet Fine Art paper look like the original. The paper is bright white in color and has a texture just like watercolor paper .....bonus!!!
This month was a killer as I made another painful decision to close my jewelry shops: snpdragon.etsy.com and alwayspersonal.etsy.com. The decision to close these shops was driven by the increasing cost of silver per oz. and the low profit margin with low sales of even the personalized jewelry. I just could afford to purchase raw materials.
